Hugo moved to Glasgow in 2016 with the intention of delivering affordable and varied classes, collaborating with local artists, designers and creatives and providing accessible and experimental sessions. In 2017 he began hosting a weekly drop-in life drawing class at For Fika Sake (affectionally known as Fika) in Partick under the name Drawing Life. The classes quickly gained momentum and expanded to additional sessions across Glasgow, spaces including the Project Cafe, The Burrell Collection, GSA and Pip Studio

Hugo now runs weekly portrait classes online for members of his Portrait Club, and in person life drawing at Cass Art in Glasgow City Centre and McNeil’s in the Southside. He regularly runs workshops where he collaborates with local artists and freelancers, including “Stretch and Sketch” where life drawing meets yoga, as well as printmaking/clay workshops.

Hugo is dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive space where models and students feel comfortable to engage in creative practice.
